As one of Cambridge’s premier establishments, an architectural signage request from the Gonville Hotel was certain to be an exciting job. The first task at hand was reviving the valet podium used for the hotel’s Bentley experience. Having seen the transformative potential of architectural films in the hands of our skilled installers, Bright Signs was asked to return for more extensive work.
Between the hotel’s elevators, its reception desk and a dining counter, we applied brushed metal, brass, white marble and wood grain emulation vinyl wraps. The desk, most notably, was given a new lease of life at a tenth of the cost quoted for real stone. Results are indiscernible until closely examined.
Quality materials were paramount for the Gonville, to remain in keeping with the hotel’s upmarket aesthetic. Not only was the selection visually pleasing, but manufactured with high-traffic environments in mind. The films used are abrasion resistant and carry a lifespan of up to 12 years.
Installation, too, was a key attraction for the hotel. Refurbishment with physical materials would undoubtedly leave areas of the hotel unusable. Our team’s efficient application of the architectural films, however, was non-disruptive. Even the lifts remained functioning and accessible to guests while applications were made.
Return custom is a true sign of quality work, and we’re proud to have helped the Gonville Hotel achieve its architectural vision throughout the premises.
